The Women Cell of Sualkuchi Budram Madhab Satradhikar College was established in September, 2004. Thereafter, the women cell marched ahead, involving in myriad engagement relating to the society, particularly the women folk of the locality.
Past Programmes: Some of the glorious activities carried out by The Women Cell are as follows:
2005: “Weavers Enlightenment Programme.”
2006: Health Awareness Camp for women in greater Sualkuchi area assisted by the local Sualkuchi Public Health Center.
2007: Seminar on “Mother and Child Care”
2008: Awareness Programme on Domestic Saving/Small Scale Savings for rural Women.
2011: a) Workshop on “Participation of Women and their role in Village Panchayat.”
2011: b) Organizing a seminar on “Tradition, Modernity and Women in the Indian Content” by SBMS College Women Cell and All Women Cell of Kamrup B-Zone of ACTA.
2013: Organizing a National Seminar on “Phenomenon of Witch-Hunting in North-East: A Major Challange to Women” by SBMS College Women Cell and All Women Cell of Kamrup B-Zone of ACTA.
