About IQAC
The IQAC Cell of the college plays a pivotal role in fostering holistic development across all aspects of the institution. It focuses on activities related to academic and administrative quality assurance, accreditation processes, continuous improvement initiatives, faculty and staff development programmes, student feedback mechanisms and fostering a culture of excellence in teaching, learning and research. SBMS College established its IQAC in 25/6/2005 after receiving accreditation from NAAC in the first cycle on 28/2/2005. The IQAC operates as a mechanism for maintaining post accreditation quality, focused on continual improvement and monitoring long-term quality standards in both academic and administrative realms.
OBJECTIVE
The primary goal of the IQAC is :
- To create a structured framework that drives focused, uniform and forward thinking initiatives to elevate both academic and administrative excellence within the institution.
- To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
STRATEGIES
- The strategies outlined by IQAC are aimed at developing mechanisms and procedure that guarantee timely, efficient and progressive performance across academic, administrative and financial domains within the institution.
- The IQAC strives ensuring high quality academic programmes promoting accessibility and affordability of education
- Assuring quality education by integrating modern teaching-learning practices.
- Focusing on fostering collaborations with other institutions.
FUNCTIONS
SOME OF THE FUNCTIONS EXPECTED OF THE IQAC ARE:
- Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
- Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
- Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
- Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education.
- Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles.
- Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.
- Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
- Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining/enhancing the institutional quality.
- Development of Quality Culture in the institution.
- Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC.

COMPOSITION OF IQAC
The IQAC of SBMS College consists of a Core committee and seven sub-committees that plan and execute various strategies for overall development and better performance of the Institution. The present Core committee of IQAC has been reconstituted as per meeting held on 21/09/2023.
