Eligibility
Students who have successfully passed the HSLC/Class X examination from Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) or any other recognised Board in India are eligible to apply for admission to Higher Secondary courses, subject to fulfilment of the eligibility conditions prescribed by ASSEB Government of Assam.
The College offers Higher Secondary courses in:
- Science
- Arts
- Commerce
Admission will be subject to the availability of seats, prescribed subject combinations and the rules of ASSEB/Government of Assam.
Online Registration and Application
Admission to HS courses is carried out through the DARPAN portal designed by Govt. of Assam.
Students should:
- Visit the notified HS admission portal i.e. DARPAN.
- Register yourself by providing the required details.
- Provide a valid mobile number and other information as required.
- Select the College you wish to apply to.
- Select your preferred stream—Science, Arts or Commerce.
- Select the required subjects according to the available combinations.
- Upload/provide the required information and documents.
- Submit the application within the notified date.
Subject Selection
Students should select subjects carefully at the time of admission.
The available subjects and combinations will depend on the stream, College, ASSEB rules and approved subject combinations.

English and MIL/Alternative English are compulsory language subjects in all the streams and choosing four subjects from the list of elective subjects.
Selection of Students
After receiving applications, the College will process the applications according to:
- Eligibility prescribed by ASSEB/Government of Assam
- Availability of seats
- Stream-wise intake capacity
- Subject combination requirements
- Merit, wherever applicable
- Reservation rules, wherever applicable
- Other instructions issued by the competent authority
The final admission process will be conducted according to the latest official admission notification issued by ASSEB
Publication of Selection/Admission Status
The selected/eligible students will be informed through the prescribed online portal and/or other official communication channels of the College.
Students should regularly check:
- Admission portal
- College website
- College notice board
- Official College communication channels
for admission-related notices and dates.
Document Verification
Students selected for admission must produce the required original documents for verification at the College.
Generally, students may be required to produce:
- HSLC/Class X Marksheet
- HSLC/Class X Pass Certificate
- HSLC/Class X Admit Card/Certificate as proof of date of birth
- Recent passport-size photographs
- Caste certificate, if applicable
- Disability/PwD certificate, if applicable
- Other certificates/documents required under Government rules
- Any other document specifically mentioned in the admission notification
The College may ask for additional documents wherever necessary.
Confirmation of Admission
The Admission procedure will be considered complete only after:
- Verification of required documents;
- Confirmation of eligibility;
- Approval/confirmation through the prescribed admission system, wherever applicable;
- Payment of admission fees (wherever applicable); and
- Completion of other formalities prescribed by the College.
Students should collect/retain the admission receipt or other proof of admission for future reference.
Fee Payment
Students must pay the prescribed admission fees within the notified period.
Eligible students may receive benefits under applicable Government fee-waiver/free-admission schemes, subject to the prevailing Government rules and eligibility conditions. The Government of Assam has issued fee-waiver provisions covering Higher Secondary admissions for eligible students under its applicable scheme.
Admission to undergraduate (Degree) courses of the College is conducted through the Samarth Admission Portal as per the rules and guidelines of the Government of Assam and the Gauhati University
The College offers B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. program (under Four Year Undergraduate Program) and three year BCA and B. Voc. program.
Eligibility
Students who have successfully passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination from a recognised Board are eligible to apply for admission to undergraduate courses, subject to the fulfilment of eligibility requirements prescribed by the Gauhati University and Government of Assam.
Different programmes may have specific eligibility requirements and subject prerequisites.
Online Registration through Samarth
Students seeking admission to Degree courses must apply through the Samarth Admission Portal within the notified admission period.
The student has to:
- Visit the official Samarth Admission Portal.
- Register/create an account using the required details.
- Enter personal and academic information correctly.
- Provide a valid mobile number and other required details.
- Upload the required documents.
- Select the desired College.
- Select the desired Degree Programme (Major program or Minor program)
- Select subject preferences and other required options.
- Check all information carefully.
- Submit the application within the notified date.
Students should keep a copy/screenshot of the submitted application for future reference.
Selection of College and Programme
Students may select the College and programme according to the options available on the Samarth Portal.
The available programmes, subjects, Major/Minor combinations and seats will depend upon:
- University regulations;
- Government of Assam guidelines;
- College-approved programmes;
- Availability of seats; and
- Approved subject combinations.
Selection of Major/Minor and Other Subjects
After selection, students have to complete the required subject selection according to the structure of the undergraduate programme.
Depending on the programme, students may have to select:
- Major
- Minor
- Multidisciplinary courses
- Ability Enhancement Courses
- Skill Enhancement Courses
- Value-Added/other prescribed courses
The actual course structure will be according to the FYUGP/University curriculum applicable to the academic session.
Students should select their subjects carefully after checking the eligibility and subject combination requirements.
Publication of Merit List
After submission of applications, students will be selected according to the admission guidelines prescribed by the Government of Assam and the Gauhati University.
Selection for admission will be based on merit and other prescribed criteria.
Students should regularly check the Samarth Portal and the college website for the publication of selection list/admission status.
Documents Verification
Students selected for admission must complete document verification as instructed by the College.
The following documents may generally be required:
- Higher Secondary/Class XII Marksheet
- Higher Secondary/Class XII Pass Certificate
- Class X Marksheet/Certificate
- Class X Admit Card or document showing date of birth
- Recent passport-size photographs
- Caste certificate, wherever applicable
- PwD certificate, wherever applicable
- Gap certificate, wherever applicable
- Migration/Transfer Certificate, wherever required
- Other documents prescribed by the University/College
Students must produce the original documents at the time of document verification by college authority.
Admission Confirmation
Admission will be considered complete only after the student:
- Is selected/admitted through the prescribed process;
- Completes document verification;
- Fulfils all eligibility requirements;
- Pays the prescribed admission fee, wherever applicable; and
- Completes all formalities required by the College/University.
The student should retain the admission receipt and other admission-related documents for future reference.
Fee Payment
Selected students must pay the admission fee on the day of documents verification through the mode specified by the College authority.
Students eligible for any Government fee-waiver scheme or other applicable benefits may avail the same subject to fulfilment of prevailing Government rules and eligibility conditions.
