Department of Political Science

About the Department: The Department of Political Science is one of the original Departments of the college since its establishment in 1963. Initially, the Department was run by two faculty members pursuing two-year Pre-university Course and two year General Degree Course. To meet the aspiration and demand of the students, two years Honors (Major) degree Course was introduced in 1977 appointing one more faculty member. Since 1977, there have been four faculty members pursuing two year H.S. and three year degree General and Major Course. The department has been instrumental to produce number of graduates who are presently working in different permanent position in both Central and State Government. Late Ranjit Choudhury was the head of the Dept. and become the Principa-l in -charge for two years and Dr. Bilash Chandra Das who was also former head of the Department become the Principal of the college for five years.
