About the Department: To spread information and experiences of Economics as a subject in the locality, the Department of Economics was established in the very beginning of the College in 1963. Initially, two faculty members ran the department pursuing Two Years Pre-University Course and Two Year General Degree Course. Later, to meet aspiration and demand of the student community Honors Course was introduced at the Degree level in 1977. Since 1988, there have been four faculty members in the department. The department is aware about the changing goal of higher education in the 21st century and always importing information, experiences and knowledge in accordance with the aim and objectives that are sent by the parent institution.
